Review It's Always That One Project Chick 3
Oh my goodness, where do I even begin with "It's Always That One Project Chick 3: The Finale"? This book completely lived up to the hype, and honestly, exceeded my expectations! I devoured the first two books in the series, and the anticipation for this final installment was almost unbearable. I even reached out to Jenica Johnson on TikTok – she’s so engaging with her readers! – to practically beg for more, and I’m so glad I did. This series is an absolute must-read.
The emotional rollercoaster this book takes you on is something else entirely. The raw vulnerability of Taylen, grappling with unimaginable loss while trying to hold her family together, was heart-wrenching. Jenica Johnson so masterfully portrays the strength and fragility of motherhood, the cracks in even the strongest foundations of love and family. You feel Taylen's pain, her grief, her quiet determination. And Ace, her steadfast rock, fighting to protect her and their love amidst overwhelming challenges, his own internal battles raging just beneath the surface – their relationship is the heart of the story, and it's beautifully, painfully real.
Then there's Autumn and Zachery. Their tumultuous relationship, a whirlwind of betrayal and second chances, kept me on the edge of my seat. Their messy dance, fueled by past hurts and impulsive decisions, is both frustrating and captivating. It's a testament to the complexities of relationships, the ways in which we hurt and are hurt, and the sometimes agonizingly slow process of healing. Their story arc felt entirely authentic, reflecting the struggles of real-life relationships and the messy reality of forgiveness.
What struck me most about this series, and especially the finale, is the authenticity of the characters and the life issues they face. It's a story that celebrates resilience and the possibility of healing, showing us that no matter our background or upbringing, we can overcome adversity and grow into the best versions of ourselves. The growth of all the characters throughout the series was truly satisfying; you feel like you’ve watched them evolve and learn, making their triumphs even more meaningful.
There were moments, I admit, where I found myself wanting to shake some of these characters (and maybe even the author, as one review so hilariously put it!). The constant back-and-forth between certain couples tested my patience at times, but that very frustration added to the realism. The characters felt so real, so flawed, and yet so utterly compelling that I couldn't tear myself away.
The ending, though… perfection. It was exactly the kind of satisfying resolution I craved, a beautiful blend of hope and happiness that left me feeling utterly content. While I secretly wished for a part four (I wouldn’t have been upset by a further exploration of these characters’ lives!), the conclusion was perfectly fitting and brought a satisfying closure to this unforgettable journey. I truly believe that this series will resonate with readers for a long time to come. Five stars, easily.
